I've just been following a tasty, tasteful but plain Rourke 853 frameset (inc. fork) on eBay over the last week. It was a few years old and well appeared cared for. It closed out tonight at £630.

The price some items fetch secondhand never ceases to astonish me. Allowing for inflation and general price increases over time the seller must have got 80% of his money back.

Theres a few brands that fall into this category Rapha, Mercian & Colnago being others.

I was going to get a Ritchey, think now I'll get a Rourke...

Nothing really to do with the brands - people are just stupid on Ebay.
    Faster than a tent.......
  • The time makes a difference on eBay.

Something I wanted sold for £1,400 on a Sunday evening and another auction for the identical item ended at £900 the following Monday morning. I'll get up early for £500 every time!
