Hi, I wanted to put some road tyres on my mountain bike, it has 26x2.2 tyres on at the moment, do I have to use the same width tyres or can I use something thinner?

Also would I need to get a new innertube?

(I have this bicyle viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=12876098)

Thanks for any advice :)

As a rule of thumb you can fit any tyre wider than the INTERNAL rim width.

You can fit tyres down to 1.5" on any Carrera, I cant see if the Centos has the ddm or XCD (wider) rims, if you have the ddm you can go down to 1.2". Obviously you need the right size tubes to match - your current tubes would buckle up inside and you risk pinching them under the tyre bead (which will end in a puncture).
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
