For 2015, the cheap, good, venerable and much recommended Carerra Subway has switched from standard 26" MTB wheels to 650B.
Why
Is this a good thing?

Theres 26" wheels, 29" wheels and 650B in the middle. Best of both worlds, apparently.......

Why, 26.5 is the new marketing must have (and may be slightly better than 26")

Is it a good thing.....maybe for the MTB's not for the subway as changing to good quality faster tyres will now be more expensive! Will that matter to most buyers - not a jot!

Is it a good thing......well will in a few years provide a cheap source of 650B wheels to try out!
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

650c is halfway between 26" and 650B. One wag suggested 2-wheel sizes across all applications, on/off road, sport, tour, utility: 650c and 700c in rims of all widths with tyres of all types.
