I am currently looking at CRC for a cassette and xt is £31 where as sram pg-1070 are £42 so I was wondering if I could use an xt cassette with my current setup?

Which one will be best?

Can I use any 10 speed chain or do I have to use the one specific to each?
I have a brand new 10spd chain all be it not the best quality

Thanks!!

You can use any chain and any cassette with any derailleur/shifter pair (as long as they're all the same number of "speeds").

Only the derailleur and shifter have to be compatible - everything else is standard spacing across all manufacturers.

Yep as long as it's 10 spd already.

What's up with the chain? Just change before it gets to wear that does damage.

gear changing has just gone rubbish and wont stay in gear properly looking at the cassette and chain is worn plus I think its just starting to slip. Done the whole set up ect numerous times changed the derailleur pulleys since they died a few hundred miles too.

Also cheaper which is always a bonus at £31 instead of £42 for the SRAM one XD
    Thanks
