Yeah but no. If you read what I've said I was dealing in stone cold hard facts, it's not a matter of opinion, the bike looks crap.
I'm not sure that's how facts work. Opinions aren't facts and your opinions on how the bike looks are your opinions. The FACT that I disagree with you means your facts aren't facts.

Well, there you go, you've learnt something, as it is a fact that it looks sh1t you see. You can disagree with facts but then you're just stating an opinion. The fact it looks crap remains. There's no need to go all Steven Hawking about it at all.

Someone posting a photo of the girlman and saying what they'd like to do to her (sorry, him) IS however lowering the tone.
Where did I say I'd like to ride the girl? I said 'I'd ride that until the back doors fell off'. Maybe you need to think about your sexist assumptions and stop objectifying women as sex objects. Frankly, you're lowering the tone.

You didn't, there's no photo of a girl.

I thought you were referring to the transsexual (which you might have mistaken for a girl) as I'd never heard the phrase in relation to a bike. If you were referring to the bike then I apologise. Crossed wires and all that.

I have corrected that for you.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Haha, that's brilliant, I see what you have done, you've changed it and made it mean something else then inferred it is corrected, mischievous!! Here you are, I have put it back again.

Ah, see, you are completely confusing facts with opinion. It's easily done don't worry. Why not pop back to the first page and you will see the fact that the bike looks sh1t.

The irony of that post is clearly lost on you so I will not attempt to explain it to you.
    Carry on.

The trouble with bike snobbery these days is that the broadening of the ownership base has introduced faddist and fantasist views to the previously sacred and oxygen-deprived higher climes of cycle-geekery.

Now, anything with De Rosa or Colnago or (risibly) Pinarello written on it gets people drooling.

I knew in my heart that this bikeporn one-upmanship was based entirely on brands and had nothing to do with an empirical study of relative merits.

With this in mind, I set out on an in-depth blind test of three of the major (and prestige) road bike brands available in the UK. A blind test is the only way to make an assessment without sneaking a look at logos or brand indentifiers.

All was going swimmingly until I caught a kerb just yards into my first ride and went headlong into a lamp post of whose presence I was completely unaware.

A fact is something that is proved through analysis via multiple routes and from a range of sources and without counter-factual proof. Idiots sometimes think their opinions are facts because they do not understand basic concepts of objectivity and proof. I think my wheelchair is feckin' awesome with its blingy spokes and high power motor, but that is just an opinion and not a fact.

I reckon that's made up. The reason I think it is fake is because Hawking is extremely perceptive and has a very good sense of humour.

So, anyway, I'm glad we are all now agreed that the bike looks sh1t.

    No.

But we all agree that you don't understand the difference between fact and opinion.

No, I do understand. It's easy in the context of this thread.

It's like this... Everyone who looks at the photo in the original post can see the fact that the bike looks sh1t, they can see this because it is fact that it looks sh1t.

Now, when I say everyone can see it, there are going to be a few exceptions, firstly, some blind people. Note at this point I did not say ALL blind people as even a blind person can see the fact that the bike looks sh1t.

Secondly, anyone remaining that cannot see the fact that the bike looks sh1t cannot see this fact because they don't have any taste.

I can see you are trying to say I don't understand the difference between fact and opinion but I suppose you are only doing this because you're embarrassed that you can't see the fact the bike looks sh1t, don't worry, and I don't want you digging yourself a hole. What I suggest is you do is to take the photo and show it to someone you trust who has at least a rudimentary form of taste, they will confirm the fact that the bike looks sh1t for you ok.

That brings me onto an idea, Taste dogs for the Blind, that could work, dogs are great at simple facts and feedback! A blind potential buyer could browse onto the photo of this bike for example, the dog would see the fact that it looks sh1t, and alert the person that's robbed of their ability to see the fact it is sh1t by putting it's paw on the keyboard and pulling it across the keys in return for a little ruffle of the head.

    Good idea!

They could use the dog to ascertain when someone is being serious or not serious for example.

Team them up with a time machine, and this thread would be far less painful...

Don't worry about the blind people - they can feel that it looks sh1t!

I'd like to know what the OP rides, when he's not worrying about what other people like to look at.
