Gearing on the left side ??

Just been reading this month's cycling plus mag.In an advert for cycleplan bike insurance there is a picture of a cyclist but the gearing is all on the LEFT side of the bike.Didn't know any bike were made like this.Can't see any name on the bike .Anyone enlighten me?
