VeloViewer Score

Veloviewer.com gives you a score out of 100. Mine is 94.70 (from 100 of 3142 segments). Is this any good? Don’t think there’s a way of comparing to the people you follow on Strava which makes this number incredibly ambiguous.

Not sure but my score is good so I think its accurate0

99.74, so close to the 99.94 max.
Does that mean I'm playing of scratch?0 -
94.62 sounds pretty decent to me.0

75.02 sounds decidedly poor compared to the above.Advocate of disc brakes.0

The number means very little. If you live in a place with a lot of slow cyclists then you will have a high number.
If you regularly cycle around Richmond Park which allegedly has the best cyclists in the UK then you will have a lower number. That is, unless you are one of them.0 -

Completely agree Dippydog, if you regularly ride routes where there are TT's held or are in an area with a few strong clubs totally different VV score to quieter areas, just enjoy the ride. All lies and jest..still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest....0 -

Good job i'm not near Richmond Park with all the best cyclists in the UK going round in (relatively) flat circles! That could be soul destroying0

Hmmmm, I would have thought the number was calculated using your relative position within segment rankings. So if you're 3rd on a segment of 5 people, you get a lower score than being 300 of 1,000. Conversely, if you're 100th of 1,000 your score would be better than someone who is 11th of 100.
As has been alluded to above, comparisons only really work if you're comparing against someone else in the same location as you.
Also, I think we can all be agreed on the fact that the best cyclists in the world come from the Isle of Man.

Was amused to see that my Veloviewer score just jumped up by one this weekend without having gone for a ride. I assume the thousands of people doing the London 100/86 on Sunday have brought down the average Strava times on a number of segments in the Surrey Hills.0

It is pretty deceptive. It seems to work based on your comparative placing on your top 100 segments (e.g. 25th out of 100 scores you 75).
I think the main problem is that it assumes that everyone is going full bore on every segment. There are lots of random segments I just cruise through every time I go out. I'm probably therefore increasing the scores of the few who go all out on them. So personally, I don't pay too much attention to my overall score. I'll admit to paying attention on the climbs since those are the ones I personally like to aim at.0 -
Mine is 103.97
