26 inch road tyres for a London commute

Hi,

Looking to replace my 26 inch road tyres with some bombproof ones and looking for 1.5 or narrower ones. The Continental Gatorskilns look good as do the Schwalbe Duranos.

Anybody got any others they've used and worth looking at.

    Nothing tougher than a Schwable marathon plus. Heavy but they roll along just fine

    I used Continental Sport Contact on my Scandal when commuting in London. The 1.6" was ideal - I did use the narrower version too, but they were slower and less comfortable.

    Fastest tyres in UK/Commonwealth... are they not the ones Guy Martin used for his landspeed record?
