immobitag yay or nay?

I just kitted a couple of my bikes with an immobitag,what do you folks think, a good deterrent to thieves or a waste of money? For me its brought peace of mind knowing that their is a record of my bikes that tracks back to my ownership of them.

    There are a couple of similar schemes working but immobitag can only be accessed by Police. I'm sure there's another that MOTP can scan a QR code on the frame in a similar way and be given details of the bike.
    I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

    Also I've heard those cash converter type shops use the immoitag /barcode numbers to make sure no stolen goods go thru there doors. Just another deterrent to put potential thief's off. You just never know when a thief's about...
