I almost have enough saved to get my girlfriend a much needed upgrade she currently has a appollo theia full sus (Piece of poo).

My budget is 500 max
She wants a purple bike
She is 5ft2 so a small size frame needed
I would really like it to have hydraulic disc brakes

So far the best looking one i have found is

Any help welcomed warmly

    Horrible. Pointless fork.
She can have colour, or a bike worth riding.

    That's a fork for a £250 bike......

    Pink bike the right way

Scott Voltage frame stripped and resprayed, now running some Manitou black (silver in colour) air forks.

As CD says you have a choice of a pink bike or a decent bike unless you DIY, you won't find a serious bike at that price point in pink I don't think....too 'Marmite'.

I bought my wife a Voodoo Bantu. It's blue.

Not what she would have picked in a shop, but now she's really happy with it and chuffed she's on a 'proper' bike. Need to swap the tyres tho, they're pretty horrid.

If you can get to £550 the Rockrider 8.1 would prob be the best bet as I think it's lighter than the Voodoos.

Just get a decent bike, strip it down and get the frame coated and rebuild.......
