Poll: Which bike to keep??

I have a proper first world problem in that I have too many bikes and one needs to go!

Currently I have a 2013 26" SC Blur TR with Fox Factory Shock/Fork and a stealth reverb post and I also have a 2014 650b Mondraker Foxy R with Fox Evo Shock/Fork, one of them has to go as they are both too similar in their intended uses.

I am slightly leaning towards keeping the Blur as its red and I always wanted a Santa Cruz, but part of me thinks to keep the Foxy as it is the new technology, despite it being heavy.

Basically I'd like a response from the Poll as to which bike you would rather keep, if you were in this situation. Pictures and Spec below to help you decide!

If you'd like to give a reason to your choice as well that would be great!

Personally I'd keep the Foxy and use some of the cash from the sale of the SC to lighten it up a bit. Treat it to some carbon parts maybe.

Which one leaves you with the biggest smile on your face at the end of a ride?

I voted for the Blur as I've always wanted a Santa Cruz too and I understand your sentiment. The Foxy is very nice, but when I sat on one it didn't suit me. The reach was great, but there was only one Tchaikovsky ballet I'd be dancing in and it wasn't Swan Lake...

I voted to keep the SC blur, I've not ridden either, I just quite like SC and the blur is a proven design.

For the UK and long rides there with nadgery climbs I'd go with the Blur. Same as I would be inclined to in Whistler. If I lived somewhere with long descents and easy climbs then the Foxy might pip it. Or sell both and buy something in between the two.

Split the Blur, upgrade the Foxy with bits that will fit (wheels, Reverb for starters) and sell the rest, use the money you get to upgrade the Foxy further......

Blur frames in good nick go for not much less than a full bike!

That said I much prefer the look of the Blur but having ridden neither I'm going on reviews only.

    Foxy all the way,

Flog the blur and then start the upgrade path on the foxy with some nice wheels and a decent fork!

I would keep the Blur. Santa Cruz frames are so nicely built and last for ever. They ride great as well.
I'm not convinced the zero stems are a good idea.

Fair enough. I would still choose the Blur though.

Thanks all for your replies, I am leaning towards the SC myself, as it was a self build as well.

The main issue I have is due to a knee issue I can't actually properly ride either. I can only pootle round the village on the roads!

Well, they both have to go, then, and you need to get something with a shopping basket on the front.

I think the Blur is more suited to tootling too - it should be lighter of the two I'd imagine. But sell both and buy something that suits what you can ride unless the injury is short term.

I'd get rid of the SC because the top tube is bent.

The foxy looks like its been ridden into a tree!

Anyway the Foxy is now up for sale in the classifieds for anyone that was interested.

Good choice in my view, but stick the dropper post onto the blur

The Blur has a Reverb Stealth fitted to it, it just wasn't present when I took that picture!

Think your making a real mistake lead by a brand veiw.

But on the other hand as long as your happy someone else will profit from it, saving on a hardly used bike :)

I wouldn't necessarily say my choice is lead by a desire to have one brand over another, the Blur TR was also reviewed as one of the best bikes in its class.

Looking at the Mondraker other than the 'ride' it doesn't really match up and would cost a lot to bring it up to a standard I would be happy with, although it did feel a little weird riding the Blur again the other day after going out the past few times on the Mondraker!

I might just put both up for sale and keep whichever doesn't sell!

Not a bad plan actually lol, most of the foxy is fine in reality just hit it with a rockshox and some new wheels and its a win... But I'm biased lol
