riding down the valley of the river Lot in France

If anyone's interested in ideas for cycling in France, I've just finished a week's ride down the valley of the river Lot in Languedoc-Roussillon and Midi-Pyrenees. It's a wonderful region for cycling and I highly recommend it.

I did a trip down the Danube in 2013, but the blog is still being worked on.

    I do a lot of my riding in the general area of Cajarc, Larnagol, St Cirq Lapopie, St Gery, Vers.... occasionally as far west as Cahors, or east to Figeac, The river road is obviously flat(ish) but here are nice climbs either side of the river out of the valley.
    Going over the top to the Célé river is nice and the Célé valley is particularly beautiful. Traffic is very light for most of the year and not excessive in the height of summer. But don't tell too many, I like it nice and quiet as it is.

    The Lot area is NOT flat :shock:

    However, it is utterly lovely, with decent weather and lovely little villages...sigh...we used to spend time on hols around Cahors and Catus. Utterly delightful, although lots of ex-pats do somewhat water down the essential Frenchness of the area :?
    It's just a hill. Get over it.

    Just to clarify here. The flat(ish) reference I made earlier and, I suspect, the OP in the blog refers to the road along the river Lot. As Secret Sam says, the departement of the Lot is far from flat and has lots of lovely climbs.
