Hi all,

I'd really appreciate some advice from all you pros..

I'm starting a new job in august with a longer commute & my current bike is absolutely knackered and ready for retirement.

I decided its time to buy a new (and proper) road bike.
I'm looking to spend up to £450

Researching online seems to give Decathalon's B'twin Triban line almost a cult following and the new Triban 500 with Sora groupset is £450

Triban 500 - http://www.decathlon.co.uk/triban-500-r ... 06944.html

My Questions
1 - Is the Triban 500 the 'best' bike around for £450?
2 - Am I actually better off getting a 2nd hand bike of ebay but of a higher spec?
3 - Any of you have any other bikes I should be considering for around this price?
(or is it a case of just splitting hairs)

Genuinely thankful to all who could spare some advice

I've got the old one as a winter bike, apart from.the freehub seizing because I put it away wet, sure it's not as nice to ride as my Bianchi but I can't fault it for the money. It got a good review of 500 quid bikes in C Plus last year.
