Newbie here. Probably a silly question but can i put 1.75 tyres on my carrera kraken to replace the current 2.2 size?
Also would this reduce some weight as i want to have a slimmer tyre for my road commute to work.

Thanks

Steve

Yes you can fit them. in fact the rims will take down to 1.00"

They may not be lighter just because they are narrower the 1.50" on my commuter are heavier than the 2.25" on my MTB.

For a Kraken I'd suggest 1.5", Schwalbe city jet at circa £11 each are an excellent budget option, to get much better you are looking at spending about £25 each on something like a Conti Sport Contact.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
  • Thanks rookie, will source those tyres out.

I have some conti sport contacts with inners that have only done twenty miles or so. If you are interested PM me. Cheers.
