Spesh Rockhopper under CTW or alternative

Hi,
Looking at getting the Rockhopper Comp or Pro £750 or £1000 under the Cycle to Work.

Bit of advice as to the difference in price and value of the difference is it worth it either will i notice the spec and or resale at later date.

Also if there is anything alternatively i should be considering for value.

CTW we operate does not limit me, I can order from anywhere so looking for best value I like Specialized but open to suggestions.

    If you can put links to the actual bikes you'll get a more detailed response.

    I have a bit of a soft spot for Specialized Rockhoppers as that is what I had for my first bike and it was excellent. BUT nowadays unfortunately Specialized tend to be very poor spec and value for money compared to what you can get elsewhere. I seem to recall the spec on the 2014 models was pretty shocking, but as I said post the links and take it from there.

    I suspect you won't be able to use Halfords, but if you can the Boardmans are very hard to beat at this price range.

    Take a look at this. The difference in spec is hard to comprehend for a £1k bike.

    Way better than the Specialiseds, but not a 29er hardtail, so a bit different to your initial post. Also over the normal CTW limit so depends on your scheme.
    Spec nowhere near as good as the On One but I prefer full sus so...

    Used to have the Cube LTD. Really good value for money.

    The Rockhopper is supposed to have a nice frame but that spec is atrocious at £700 never mind £1000

    That cube weighs getting on for 35lbs which is a lot for an XC type bike.

    I'd go HT.
