Hey, I got pulled over by a cop in Santa Monica because my front light ran out of battery and it was dark out. I got a ticket for 54 bucks. Any idea if it's worth contesting? I left the house with the light charged; it just died because the light really burns battery.

  • Police never seem to bother over here. You may get a ticking off, but I have never seen or heard of anyone being fined.
But you have no reason to contest - your light wasn't working. No unusual circumstances. End of story.

As a UK based website we aren't really in a position to comment, but if you broke the law you appear to have little defence!

My father says he once got fined I think it was 15-shillings for riding without a light
