Carn Ban Mor (Cairngorms)

I'm taking a biking road trip around Scotland next week. I have heard some good things about Carn Ban Mor, looks like a good natural ride, a real contrast to the trail centres. Only problem is I read on an old post that it has changed and is no longer as good as it was.
Would be great if someone knew the current condition of the route and whether it was still worth riding.

Thanks, Sam

I guess it depends which route you were thinking of.
The most obvious way up is the main landrover track up to Mullach Clach a'Bhlair, which is v loose and rubbly in places (and steep), but is still probably the best way up (but not down). Then various single-track choices for the way back down to Feshie further north - no idea of the recent condition of any of them as haven't been up there for many many years.

You might get some useful feedback if you try the TrailScotland forum? (many locals to that area frequent it).

    cheers,
    Lucy
