    I agree, never liked what Giant did with the SL integrated post on the Defy. It works on the TCR but just looks fugly on the Defy (apologies for dissing your bike, just my opinion and I am sure it rides beautifully). Aesthetically looks weird though.

    Extensor was buttery smooth but Defy runs it very close!
    Defy puts the power down a lot better due to the increased stiffness and the mahooosive front end means it tracks like its on rails.

    Current weight is 16 1/2lbs fitted with RS81's.
    Hopefully get some DA C24's at some point and maybe fit the Giant SLR carbon stem when funds allow.

    Rode the Peak Epic sportive on it today and it performed flawlessly
    Very happy with my choice.....controversial seatpost aesthetics and all! :)

    Nice - I have the exact same bike in the next size up it is just mint. Absolutely stunning. Very stiff, descends incredibly and just rides akin to a top end dream bike, for a 'sportive' bike I think it rides like a Tarmac, very stiff and very lively - have also slammed the stem to match to my bike fit data. Giant road bikes remained off my radar for a very long time, but if the TCR's ride like this then blimey. Not a big fan of the 90mm reach Giant stock bars, but they can change in time as I have some nice 75mm reach S-Works bars in the shed. Mine has the Giant wheels and again, very very good all things considered.

    I concur with everything you say, an absolutely stunning bike for all occasions. Enjoy yours.

    I currently ride an Defy Advanced and always wondered how different an SL would be. The seat post is definitely different, but it's definitely on my radar for my next bike...

    Seatpost/seatstay area looks a little anorexic, definitely wouldn't trust it under my hefty lumps. But very nice, both bike and scenery :)
