Frame warranty swap options and resale value

Hello - I'm looking for some advice from those in the know as I'm a little out of the loop.

I found a crack on my 07 trek 9.8 top fuel and my excellent LBS have arranged a warranty deal with Trek but I don't know which option to take.

A) free swap of frame to hardtail 9.9 SSL, keeping my '07 Fox forks, 26" wheels and SRAM X0 groupset.

B) pay £550 for a new 9.7 fuel ex or superfly 29er (I could raise the funds but not easily).

Considering resale value in particular.... What would you do ????

Thanks.

In terms of resale value, the new bike.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

Resale value of a 2007 top fuel isn't much now. £500 for the new Fuel EX sounds like an excellent offer.
  • Or I can get the 9.7 superfly FS 29er on the swap deal.

How much would someone realistically pay for a new 9.7 FS on eBay / pinkbike?

    Look on Ebay or Pinkbike.
