Crank brothers iodine 2 wheel set

Hi all , looking at this wheel set from merlin for £239 , I'm 17st and ride a hardtail on trails and trail entres so after something strong but not to heavy . Anyone used these ? Or other suggestions for max of £250 please

I heard the older ones head problems with free hubs and spares are going to be harder to find , the looks are what I really like but need to be reliable and have a 15mm front hub0

Just looked on merlin and could get
Xt 6 bolt hubs 15mmfront
Mavic xm719 rims
Acs db black spokes
£212
Seems a good price but heard the xt hubs are heavy but should be long lasting , bike is used to get to work everyday so does need reliable wheels0 -

the old wheels circa 2011 had an issue with freewheels however that is a thing of the past. other than that they have no more problems that any other wheel.0 -
apart from of course the massive issue of proprietary spare parts.0

The parts are what worries me , at least if a xt hub or mavic rim breaks there easily fixed or changed0

extra.co.uk are the distributer
if an LBS doesn't have the part you need they still have to order it from a supplier so no real difference for spokes0 -
XT hubs last forever if maintained.

The looks and price got me looking , need a new front to fit my new forks so think I will get this first and then the rear wheel later . Can afford a hope front then in blue to match my bike0
