Hi, I am just looking for some advice and tips on a trip to the Jura region of France.
I'd like to head there for a few days only, fly in and out of Geneva and not have to hire a car.
Has anyone got experience of a short trip here and able to recommend places to stay, and routes? In my mind I'd like to stay at a B&B for three or four nights, somewhere within a sensible taxi ride of the airport but that will also serve as a base for some good rides. So fly in, short transfer, few good rides, hop out again, Bish bash bosh.

Try Les Rousses. Plenty of hotels, and lots of decent cycling. Use the train to get there. Train from the airport to Nyon, then train up onto the plateau from Nyon to La Cure. Short hop by taxi or local bus from La Cure into Les Rousses.0

The Swiss railways are great. You can catch a train at Geneva airport with your bike and easily get to somewhere like Sainte Croix, from up there you can cycle both sides of the border. I particularly like the valley of La Loue.
I have one of those plastic topographical maps of the Jura and it is like a wedge of cheese with basically an easy slope from Besancon up to the Swiss border then a drop. Of course that is a vast over generalisation but you get the picture.0 -

I probably ought to go back there: six of us went over them en route to Annecy at the end of May last year, and nearly ended up with hypothermia. One of the worst days I've ever had on the bike. I bet it's pretty in the sun though.0 -
