Tyre too wide or wheel too flexible?!

Hello all,

I have a 2012 Specialized Camber Comp with Rock Shox Recon silver forks.

Today I fitted Schwalbe Magic Mary 26 x 2.35 tyres, assuming they would fit fine. The rear tyre is fine, but the front doesn't have much clearance (maybe 5mm from the edge of the tread to the arch at the top of the forks).

Now, its fine until breaking, then the wheel seems to flex and the tyre catches the fork, also under hard cornering it does the same.

The wheel feels ok (no loose spokes and the bearing seems ok). Is this excessive play, or am I just pushing my luck with 2.35 wide tyres?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Time to get the bike serviced. Ie wheels tensioned.

Is the QR down up tight enough, the brake reaction can pull the brake side down in the dropout and pull the tyre onto the left hand side fork lower.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
