    That's proper nice.
  • That is pretty cool! I love a bit of pink on bikes.

How are you enjoying the under saddle bottle mount? I've been contemplating getting one for project pinkie as I have no mounts on the frame, and I die on the commute when the weather gets warmer.

Mixed bag, if I use a full bottle it is liable to try and escape on rough road! I'm trying to source a smaller <500mm bottle. The seat doesn't help, can't fit it at a more vertical angle.

The SKS system is worth a punt for much less money, can be easily mounted on the bars also.

If only my knees would cope...

I don't think you could get away with running such a bike SS rather than fixed but it does look great!

Great looking build. Been waiting for you to build this since you first posed about the frame.

If I had the spare cash would love to have one as this is the best looking track/fixie frame out there IMO. Italian brand, pink accents, what's not to like?

You could try a band on bottle cage on the seat tube?

I feel like I should dislike it... but I don't. Nice bike.

I like the reference in your title, too

Not least because there would be nowhere to mount the brakes, eh?

You would be surprised the number of people you see running SS bikes (and you know because they spend a lot of time coasting!) with only front brakes on in London. Idiots to a man/woman. ;)

But you are right, I would have to find a nice frame with front and back brakes drilled to go the easy route.

And there is me booked in at Condor on the 25th for a refitting of the Italia.

The Rapha club tops are great. I already have a black/pink/grey one as well as the matching hat. Expensive but great.

I'm taking the opportunity to look at track frames while I try and work out what my preferred size is and this frame ticks all the boxes for me. The yellow/black is a good looking bike as well and another one I wouldn't mind. However, the stock of these frames do appear to be in limited sizes at the moment although I'm in no hurry just yet and happy to wait for a bargain and/or realistic price. :P

How well does powertap work on the fixed gear? Showing my ignorance, but don't you get odd readings when slowing down?

Love the bike by the way. Bullhorns for the win. Did you ever come up with a better bidon system?

After a month on pista bars I'm very happy to be back on bull horns. The control and braking are brilliant.

Power is interesting but only records forward movement. It doesn't pick up the effort when spinning down hills but that's a small proportion of most rides. Otherwise its useful, especially on really windy days.
I should add that it was found at a price I couldn't refuse and gives me comprehensive data on both bikes. I get a lot of comments on the commute!

It's also interesting when you can see each pedal stroke when hoofing it up short climbs.

I'm still using the rear bottle holder for hot rides; when it's cooler a 250ml Salomon soft flask goes in the back pocket.
  • hi, a workmate of mine has this exact frame, I have not seen it the flesh yet but she wants me to add a back brake, can this be done? not sure if the frame has a hole through it, can't quite see in the photos???

Think she purchased the wrong bike, this is a track frame with no fittings for a rear brake and I wouldn't drill it.

But you may be able to use an adapter..

thanks for that, frame suited her needs but she wants to give it to her daughter and just wanted the added rear brake for piece of mind I guess, thanks
