Morning just wondered what your views are on this type of work as been offered one . Right its a major American marketing company been going for years. They clients as Talk Talk and Make up companies and charity and others. Its Commission only and fully train you up to management level and they said that takes 10 months,Yeah 10 to reach management lol  . they shown me how works and i went to Halifax yesterday and observed how operate etc. They were marketing for a charity for deaf kids.

The only pay is commission until reach management level. To get the pay its works using law of averages so probable sale is always there.
now per sale its about 15 quid commission or so and well can be 50 to 160 quid a day depending.
Now my problem is now and am I being realistic here is I got rent need to pay like every one else and I live in private rented flat and we all know cost of them, also got other things to pay.
I also wanting to settle down with my GF so were planning on living together at some point soon and she wanting to get mortgage too.

So what peoples thought shall i tell them i changed my mind and keep on applying and searching, any one got experience on this?.

PS i know its also classes as self employed and how that work
I don't have a bike addiction problem.....bikes seems to have a problem with me.....it just can't seem to stay on.

Wide berth. Would help if you read what you've written though.

Agree with the others. Boiler room type activity, works on percentage of calls made. Did something very similar myself over 20 years ago. You will hate it and wonder why you are still poor.

What are you actually doing? trying to sell direct debits to a charity for a company who makes a profit from it?

Sounds soul destroying if it is, there must be something better out there surely.

I went for a similar sounding job with no basic salary. When they went into more depth I found out that they kept 1/3 of your wages back in order to refund customers who changed their minds.

    I'd keep WELL clear.

I'd avoid that like the plague.

In your case I'd probably also avoid anything that requires reasonable written English...

    That's not just poor typing skills . . .

Don't go for this sort of job. If it were worthwhile, they'd pay a salary. Operations that work like on commission only rely on lots of people putting in lots of hours and lots of effort to get a very low success rate. Which only works if you only pay the ones that happen to get a successful lead.

Accept the job, snap it up - commission is just as good as salary - your GF will love me for giving you this advice!. Tell her it is like being an Officer - you get a Commission - like being a General!

Ask them how there payment methodology tallies with the legal requirement to pay you the national minimum wage, commission or piece work is still not exempt from the requirement to pay you that.
    http://www.nidirect.gov.uk/index/inform ... m-wage.htm

You would be classed as an output worker

So their average pay must be at least 1.2xnmw or they are breaking the law. Clearly if your 'results' are well under average you'll still get less than the nmw.

I did a similar commission based job selling windows a decade or so ago. It was bad but did keep a roof over my head after being made redundant from my previous job. It sucked big time though. You cannot plan for anything other than scrimping the whole time as next week might be bad. As it turns out I did really well and by the time I finished I would (prorata) have been earning more than I do now.....

Bware, Management also worked on commission but based on a portion of what the people in their team sold. Very very high attrition rate of staff. I managed 10 months and other than the manager was the longest serving member of staff in that branch
