I had a lie in until 6.30, helped the biggest littley with her homework and now I'm off to Swinley on the mountain bike :)

The chap is called a pimp, the 'fitting' is leather, whips and chains and the ride bit is what you pay for.

@ Veronesse. Is that what used to be known as a cyclocross machine? I'd be up for that, if I had a cyclocross rig in my shed.
Don't you think 3 road bikes is enough without getting another one?

Indeed, it's a right laugh. The novelty of being able to brake in the wet never gets old. The strange looks you get from roadies as you appear from a muddy trail is quite funny, then you get similar looks from mountain bikers on the trails. Nowhere near as much grip as a proper MTB off road, but a lot faster on road or hard packed trails.

(More off topic stuff :D )

As I say, I would be up for it. Dunno about local trails for that sort of thing. A very good way to get fit, i dare say.

Try leaving the house 4:15am each morning! At least roads are empty.
