Giant Defy 2 2014 or Specialized Allez Elite 2013

I’m looking for some advice on the above 2 bikes. I’m looking for an entry level bike and have narrowed the search down to these 2. Giant Defy 2 2014 or Specialized Allez Elite 2013. I can get both for around the same price. Any views/opinions would be appreciated

    They are very similar bikes and either would be a very good entry level bike. My first road bike was of a similar spec and got me hooked on road biking. It is fine for a quick sprint or riding for a few hours.

    Test ride both and choose the one you like the look and ride of.

    Depends what you are after. The defy is a more relaxed geometry and the Allez is more of a racy geometry. Best thing would be to try them both and see what you think.
    Bikes are OK, I guess... :-)

    I just got a second hand 2013 Defy 1 with sub 100 miles on it. Was looking at the Allez but as much good as I hear about it I hear better for the Giant, supposedly much more comfortable also, which is a selling point for me just moving over from MTB's
