There is also a deal with the 11 speed groupset. Do you think its worth paying the extra?

    Soooooo tempting.......

(let me check the sizing chart to see what size I should order)
  • wow so deal! The groupset alone is almost worth the price.

Trust Westbrooks to come out with them :D
  • WHAT !!!???

That is ridiculous. Get it bought, rapid.

Thats a sickner if you`ve just paid what I did for a Di2 equipped bike

I'd think the 11 speed upgrade is definitely worth it.

  • Was just about to spend £400 on some new wheels, may just buy this instead. What is the catch other than if you put it down in snow you may lose it?

The only catch is that 6770 has been superseded, and you are getting a 2 year old frame. (The current ones are the same but with different paint.) It's still a bargain.

    6870 is only £200 more :)

    I don't think there's a catch. It's a 2012 model Di2 only frame which they have effectively reduced to £399.

FWIW if you have a local Scott dealer, why not ask them how much a 2012 or 2013 frame would cost?

More chainset choice there as well.

If you look at the frameset alone, they are effectively charging you £400 for the 6770 groupset!

it's NOT 11 speed tho'. 6700 is 10 speed, which is SO last year.

    no wheels either

Yeah, they're the same people who sold a load of CR1s off cheap last year.

ok, just clocked that in the earlier post!
  • So does the groupset come boxed or semi fitted?
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles
  • Sorely tempted to buy one as I'm sick of STILL waiting on my 2014 Felt AR1.

Don't think wheels are included though?

Nope, nor are bars, bar tape, a saddle or a stem. (or pedals, obviously)

this is the crucial question. If it's fitted it's even more excellent!

  • Ask them? IME in buying the CR1 last year they responded to emails really quickly. Obviously the grouppo can't be fully fitted as the handlebars aren't supplied.

As I understand this deal is just frame and groupset, so presumably you're going to need, saddle, stem, handlebars, bar tape, pedals, wheels, tubes, tyres.

They're selling the frameset on it's own for £799, so that makes the full groupset just £600. They are also selling the full 2013 version for £2299 http://www.westbrookcycles.co.uk/scott-foil-15-road-bike-20-speed-2013-p207812, but I read several reviews and they slated the wheels so a frame+groupset for that kind of money means I can get a decent set of wheels and all the other bits and pieces and still bring the full build in under the 2013 bike price. Just to sweeten the deal you can get 5% cashback via quidco which on the £1399 version I just ordered is £58. My problem is I can't decide if I should fit white saddle&bar tape or black
