Hi, a few months ago I bought an old GT Avalanche 3.0 2004 and basically I would like to have brand new group set (deore XT), fork, steering and wheel set on this bike which mean almost 90% upgrade to the bike :)
I like to see the triple triangle frame, so i won't change the frame if there is no reason that I have to.

Could anyone tell me, any difference between my 2004 frame to the early GT Avalanche frame?
Please give me advice which one should I do, upgrade or buying a new one :?

Upgrading all except the frame is pointless unless it's a great frame, the Avalanche isn't.

Get a decent new bike, personally GT are overpriced for what you get.

Another option is to buy a decent bike with the right bits on and reframe them all into your (or another GT) frame, for example you could get a Rockrider 8.1 for £550 and a decent used GT frame (Zaskar) for £100-£150 and sell your Avalanche.
