Person with extra pounds

Hi,
I am a person with some extra pounds and I decided to start a healthy lifestyle. I want to reach at the ideal weight but to do so with the sport and with diet. I took a mountain bike. Can someone help me with a program that can use the exercise bike for weight loss?

If your just starting to exercise build up slowly, steady rides at a comfortable pace, you need to get your body used to the idea.
Good luck, you'll see some major changes if you stick with it.

Give you an example, this winter on my road bike I got up to 50 miles but didn't lose any weight. I was fit enough but just eating too much. Ate slightly less and rapidly lost half a stone.
