Doubtful. I don't recall it being streamed in the last number of years.

  • TVE showed this last year - don't think it was live though.

Now you mention it, I do remember watching at least the Valverde, Henao, Gesink, and Quintana (?) finish on one of the races.

edit: just searched for last year's thread, and all we had was a ticker.
  • Live coverage stopped about 4 or 5 years ago.
Not that it was very reliable.

If you are really desperate there is a webcam on the auditorium with the option (Paseo I and Paseo II) which gives a view up and down the road where the race takes place. :)

  • I watched it when I lived in France, which I've just realised is 5 years ago

How serious - really - is the racing out there?

I half expect to see the Wiggins kids riding with daddy - mum sat at the roadside reading Hola! jumping up to run along side with drinks...

Other pros peeling off the back of the peloton if they start to get a bit puffed out... Only to start again the next day...

It all feels a bit ... "Dad's Army"?

Serious enough if you're at the front end. It isn't the Amstel Curacao.

Another win for Sacha Modolo in today's race - an uphill drag sprint:

    1. MODOLO Sacha Lampre - Merida 4:07:53
    2. SWIFT Ben Team Sky
    3. MEERSMAN Gianni Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team
    4. TRENTIN Matteo Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team
    5. REYNES MIMO Vicente IAM Cycling
  • Recorded today's race.
Shots at the start of Quintana, Wiggins and the current best GT rider in the world, Chris "Lampre" Horner. :P
At the finish it looked as if Swift was miffed at Meersman squeezing him into the barriers. Becoming a Gianni trademark, that.
Expect it will be on CF video section in a bit.

    Hills tomorrow.

Thanks for that. It certainly looked like Meersman was a little naughty at the finish. Still, it's good to see Swift with some form. He needs a big season. Also good by Modolo again, stepping up a level well.

  • Yep - Meersman definitely in the wrong there. Windy day in Majorca - OPQS actually split the main group at one point.

    Plenty of climbing tomorrow:

Looking forward to seeing Henao and Uran go head to head. Plenty of other riders that will be good to see how they are going - Horner, Sebastian Henao, Yates Bros, Teklehaimanot, LL Sanchez, Lofkvist, Dayer Quintana...

    From Cyclocosm's Tumblr account.
  • 23km to go Mejias & Piedra have 19" on Del Pino Kangert, Vakoc & Belkov, 2'25" on Henao & Kwiatkowski and 2'49" on peloton.

Henao and @michalkwiatek gaining ground on Mejias and Piedra. 1’40” back now. 2’05” gap to the peloton

  • The real racers Henao and Kwia are however currently flying. Joined up - 7 riders or so. They are out in the lead with the peloton about 1min back. 9ks.

    Ooo come on Kwiatkowski!
He won. EBH second, Gavazzi third (so I guess the rest of the break got caught)

Sounds like good racing! OPQS looking strong and racking up the wins already.
