Took long enough - Being a Ferrari client and all that.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.
  • Another charmed career finally exposed.
He's been working for Rai since his retirement, as their resident
studio/commentator "expert" and from the back of the motor bike,
    during the Giro.
I guess he can kiss that goodbye.

Will this mean that Gibo will eventually get that 3rd Giro title that eluded
    him?

Took just long enough so that the 2005 giro d'italia win is over 8 years ago? Wonder when the investigation started.

Ah, seems that its not clear whether its linked to USADA's investigation, or Padova, or, well, let's be honest, there are a few options.

'"It'll be for the Di Luca case, we raced together (at LPR Brakes in 2008)," he told Cyclingnews. "We'll see what emerges. I just hope that they aren't trying to make a splash in the media about it."

    and

"It could be linked Armstrong and the Padova investigation but I'm not worried," Savoldelli conceded to Cyclingnews. "It's just a pain that I'll have to go all the way to Rome."

Millar had done some commentary. No difference. Do you think Kelly was clean? should he be doing commentary?

Lets keep a balanced and fair view.

Given the reaction by TV stations re certain commentators whose pasts have suddenly caught up with them...yeah, maybe

RAI have experienced a bit of an attitude change over the past couple of season's, in respect of current dopers.
They still love their old stars, mind.
Besides, it's Italy, they shouldn't be short of a replacement or ten.
Having said that, Savoldelli was a v good analyst. (from my limited Italian)

My Wife speaks Italian very well and I have picked up quite a bit.

I enjoyed his views and he his very relaxed, unlike the stiff and conservative commentary we suffer on ITV 4.

    I hope he stays.

RAI have already lost Cassani to the Italian national set-up, so you never know...

We'll except they weren't where they? He was a doctor on their team, paid for by the organisation. They weren't making there own decisions or payments to go and see him for "training plans".

Oh, sorry, I see! You've used the wink to say anything you like, and pretend its a joke....but still say it.

As far as I can make out his comments from the motor are pretty good, but I can't really listen to him without thinking of Kermit the Frog. He really has the most bizarre voice.

Of course they are, they're mass media. Dutch NOS got rid of Boogerd but Ducrot is still there.

I guess i'm just an unashamed doping apologist, but it's a lot more fun that hating everything.

This guy was a bit before my time but I did watch him closely when racing at the Giro for LPR Brakes - was excellent and there was a great photo of him with a cut shoulder after a crash (would post but cant find even though I saved it somewhere).

I agree it was an awesome stage. Never watched it live but loved watching the replay. Rujano - got to enjoy that and then Di Luca in one of the best kits ever and the liquigas Bianchi matching so well.
