Shoes with recessed cleats for Shimano SPD-SL Pedals?

Hi.

I have some Shimano SPD-SL Pedals and bought some road shoes with external cleats. They have been great but as my requirement is for Commuting and a mixture of cycling and then walking over a foot bridge, I have quickly warn out the cleats and they no longer allow me to clip into the pedal securely. Doh! Had I done more research, these were not the best choice for the actual usage I require, which leads me to my question...

What are the best shoe options compatible with the SPD-SL pedal that have a recessed/integrated cleat that would be ideal for cycling with a bit of walking? I'm a bit reluctant to get shoes that look too bulky/rugged therefore ideally I would like a more subtle shoe option.

Any suggestions/advice/links people could provide?

Any help would be much appreciated! :D
