Had a few upgrades since, such as sram red shifters, weight now at 7.8kg inc garmin, pedals, bottle cages etc, which isnt bad for an XL, though have 7kg as my target.

Comments

  • Upgrades to soon follow (given as a student i can afford them) include:
Sram red 53/39 Gxp 175mm Chainset
    Sram Red Front Derailleur
    Sram red rear derailleur
    Sram red 11-23 1090 cassette
    KMC X10sl Chain
Ritchey Wcs wet white 130mm stem
Ritchey Wcs carbon logic 2 bars
    Ritchey Carbon Wcs seatpost
    white titanium seatpost clamp
Red bottle cage bolts and cable ends

should hopefully bring weight down to circa 7.2kg
  • Looks like someone has done a good job of weather proofing that bench.

White tyres are a shocking choice and the saddles not level, other than that deeeecent
  • the saddle wasnt level as had just raced cobbles is Assen which knocked it out of bonk, but the white tyres i have to disagree with :P i think they look good
  • spec to follow, got to revise :(

Could probably drop 800grams with a set of tubular wheels.
  • no not standars wheels, they are sram s30 al race wheels, no way i could drop 800g, they weigh 2.21kg for the set including skewers, very light, on par with any set of tubulars, especially on my budget.
    rest of the spec includes:
asformentioned sram s30 al race wheels with ceramic bearings, latex inner tubes and schwalbe ultremo zx tyres with chinese titanium skewers and now a sram red 11-23 cassette
    sram red bb
sram red 52t chainring (needed junior gear)
    sram red shifters
    carbon look bar tape
    sram bar ends
    dura ace cabling and housing
    sram force rear derailleur
    ritchey pro streem saddle
    sram apex white brakes
    a2z red chainring bolts
    look keo max 2 pedals
    elite bottle cages
garmin edge 500 with sram front mount and cadence

currently only the frame, chainset, finishing kit and front derailleur are standard
    think thats it all
  • even zipp 202's are 1150g, then id need 500g worth of tyre, 30g of glue 50g in the skewers, and 160g in the cassette, which takes me to only about 1.9kg which is only 300g lighter at 4x the price, and have the faff of tubs :/

Those tires do not work at all, they distract me from the actual bike.

    But each to their own.
    Cervelo S5 Ultegra Di2.

    They really don't.

    They really don't.

Nor the white saddle, hoods, ridiculous amount of seatpost showing and stack of spacers under the stem.

    Apart from that…..

+1 for losing the white tyres. Or, indeed, any tyres that are not the proper colour for tyres. That colour being black
  • *being 6ft 6 and having a inside leg over 36 means i definately need all that seatpost, and hence the spacers :P
