I am kinda new to Mountain bikes and looking to get fit and take advantage of the trails on my doorstep in the Forest of Dean :-) The choices appear quite large for a budget of around £1000 though I am looking at a hardtail rather than a FS. Bit of conflicting advice but isn't there always!! Looking forward to getting a bike and will post a review of what I buy when I do in the next couple of weeks. :-)

As others will say I would sit on a few and see how they feel, but these are 2 good bikes to look at.0
