It's a bit new to me only been at it a month but really enjoying it bought a Specialised Carve 29er, managed something to day that I thought I wouldn't be able to do and was to ride my bike up around my local hill lakes, I live in the valley floor and it's 5 miles up hill to get to them, Well I got up there and rode all the way round them well pleased.

  • Nice bike mate, what frame size? Looks massive!

  • Must say I was just logging in to say the same. Bike set up looks as if its a bit on the large size for you. Did a shop size it for you?

That aside, the Carve is a great bike. I love mine.

    Enjoy it.
  • It is a little on the large size even for my 6'4" but is very comfortable to ride, it's a 23" frame, I bought the bike SH at a very good price so it will be OK for now, it's more to see if I'm going to get into mtb's
I have ridden motorbikes off road for years, finding it a little bit harder with the lack of 40-50 hp at my right hand

I am just over 6ft6 and find the 23" Carve the first bike I just fit on by just raising the saddle. I now no longer look like I am riding a BMX but it is a huge bike :)

You will find the Carve ideal for where you are riding it is a fast XC bike which goes well over the rough stuff.

Looks good. Looks like you have better weather up there than down here. The frame size is probably about right, is your saddle high enough for proper leg extension when pedalling? Im only 6'1" and would probably have the saddle a little higher than that on a 23" frame
  • It was the saddle height plus large frame that made me ask.

I reckon you'll love the bike. They handle nicely and eat miles too.
