Hi everyone,

Just bought this after reading the review on here, hoping to use it to commute and enjoy in the peaks at the weekend with a few mates.

Few pics still sporting it reflectors.

Hoping to get out on a bit over the Christmas break.

I have got some lights sorted for it along with a few other bits to get me started so should be good fun quite easy to get out to the peaks from where I am in Sheffield.

The Calibres do look promising, nice buy at the price, just waiting now for the three-o-three with 650b wheels!
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
  • I must admit 650b would have probably been better for the commute and a beginner out on the trails. But for £324 I couldn't resist, even if it only last a year or two before I want to/need to upgrade.

Any idea what the 303 will be priced at?

Ha ha, it is my assumption that it will be called that or even exist, after all the two two is a 26er and the fifty a 29er, three o three is just a number in between, although a three fifty seven is closer to half way!

  • Haha you got me! Although the .50 is a 26er as well so may just be wishful thinking.

The review I read for the 50 said it was a 29er!

Was this really only £324? Thats a bargain! It would be good value at double the price. Was it discounted?

Standard they are £399 but with discount card they are £360 then they had an extra 10% off anything over £50 so took it to £324 billy bargain, about to head out on it for the first time.

Even at full price that's great value.
  • Been using this for a couple of months now and really enjoying it. Been out to sherwood pines this morning and I'm planning to commute every day next week on it.

It prep for that I purchased some 26x1.5 schwalbe city jets and new tubes, they are pretty slim compared to the 2.25's that were on there before. Should only take 20 mins to switch back for weekend fun.

    Anyone else made this switch?
  • Pics with the tyres.

  • My dad runs cityjets on his commuter, with both of us doing a wheel each not takes 10 minutes! But he's got a proper tv now so haven't done it in a while :)

Small update, went out and did a trail around Bakewell yesterday, first time out properly in the peaks and not at a trail centre type place. So much different, why it's it called the Peak District again, oh yeah the hills!! Really struggling with these still but hoping that the more I get out, the easier they will become. I did a lot of pushing lol.

It was properly muddy, really sticky in places. My mate gave me a set of High Rollers for free as they were taking up space. Better grip than the Smart Sam's in the mud for sure but they did clog up loads, assuming that was just the conditions. Fronts a super tacky one which should be good when conditions dry out a bit.

Had my first flat too. Fortunately it was about 1/4 mile from the car park so got quite lucky with that.

Pic with the high rollers just because. (Sorry about the quality)
