Ok so first off apologies if this has already been done I've been through 10 pages and couldn't see one like it so if needed either merge them or point me in the right direction thanks.

As it says on the tin really, just got a 2011 Camber and wanted to compare mine with others and also bigger and better or older and wiser FS from Specialized :) Didn't help that I just spent an hour wondering round the Specialized concept store in Saltash pretty much drooling over everything in there but most of all the beast that is the 2014 S-Works Demo 8 carbon they have on display, I asked for a test ride but just got laughed at, dunno why I wasn't joking :?

I'll get us started with my standard for now Camber 2011, bloody lovely looking bike which I'm ashamed to say has yet to see a flick of mud let alone a decent trail day but that will change soon. Please feel free to add your bikes and specs but limitations are; it must be Specialized and it must be full sus :D

  • Good start JBA, 3 Spesh FS in 1 post!!!!! Damn your good. Is that a Camber behind yours in the first pic

You basically own the big brother and little sister of mine  had a quick blast on the new jumper 29er today and it rolls lovely, if the shop had let me I'd have been off for a while

Not felt the need to upgrade anything yet then? What's wrong with you :P

This was taken a while back (before I got the Carve) so it has been changed a little bit since the picture.
It now has a 50mm RaceFace Chester stem and some Nukeproof Electron pedals in white on it.

That's my mate's 2012 Camber Expert in the first photo.

No, I haven't felt the need to upgrade anything on my bike yet. Everything works well and as it should. :D
The only thing I may change is the bars for something a bit wider, maybe 720mm.

Here's another of my bike and my cousin's 2011 Stumpjumper FSR Elite in test colours:

  • My wife also has a Myka but the HT version.

How does your mate like his Camber?

Should have added to my pic, non-stock stuff is the bottle cage, lizard skin patches at various locations, seat clamp changed, charge spoon saddle and it had wellgo Mg1's that are now on the wife's bike.
  • Here's my 2011 Stumpy Evo. Got the frame earlier this year brand new from Bike Scene and built it with bits from my C456. Not had much time on it but what I have has been great! Can only really complain about the PF39 BB which I don't see the point of.

Looking forward to plenty of riding next year!

Other than the myka, I'm seeing a definite trend going on here... A very red, black and white trend...

You can only see so many stumpys and epics before they start blurring into one!

    So my spesh FS:

Well if it had been a Spesh HT thread then I could have posted all my families bikes and each bike is black so my Camber is the colourful one

Here's my 2010 XC Pro. It no longer exists as a full bike, juts a frame and forks but it served me very well for the 18 months I rode it.

The original spec when I first started riding it:

  • Thought I'd take a quick snap (after giving it a clean up) of the Camber with the changes I'd mentioned earlier.

My 2008 Stumpie Pro. Standard bar the pedals and seat. Been a fantastic bike following my 2007 Epic Comp.

Soon to be replaced this year with a new Stumpjumper. Just need to decide if I go carbon or remain on alloy.

Stumpy FSR gotta be the dullest bike I've ever ridden. It only works in one scenario : downhill. Flatland, uphills and road transfers are a torture. Roval Carbon wheels didn't do much to it,I've had to buy back an Epic and the Stumpy is on the market,if I'll ever keep it will be my "beater" bike. Specialized really needs to refine the Stumpy FSR frame unless their interest is to have it cannibalized by the Enduro 29. The reason why Specialized would not place a Brain on the Camber is unkown to me,that would be the perfect bike for my needs.
The Epic has some paint defects from the factory,Specialized will replace the entire bike at no costs, the whole bike ! Good job !

  • Just got my first MTB a S-Works Epic WC 29r with full SWAT kit and upgraded bars and stem and bearings. I can't say I know much about MTB's as I come from a road background, I brought it as I wanted a bike which could take two water bottles, but I think it looks OK.
It has full titanium bolt kit and axles, tubeless, SRAM XX1 groupset, carbon magura mt8 brakes and comes in at a touch over 9kg

Spesh FS in action although it really doesn't look like this right now!

Currently without forks, brakes and rear mech  after my wedding it'll be getting treated to some new SLX stoppers, a 140/150mm fork and nukeproof generator front wheel with 20mm maxle and some new rubber (choosing between hans dampfs or spesh butcher front/purgatory rear)

I don't ride it as much as I used to so it may very well be up for sale soon.

PM me your email Kev as I'd be interested in what you'd want for it. Think the camber is slightly out of it's depth with what I'm starting g to throw at it

I wanted to build a winter fun bike so found an FSR xc frame on eBay. Built it up into this

    DSC_0026.jpg

I've got to admit, it rides better than I expected & I enjoy it very much. Only downfall is the bottom shock bush doesn't last long if you use the lockout & the frame is pretty heavy. Still, at 10.6kg its not an overweight bike
