With only 10 days of 2013 left, and everyone likely to be plssed for at least 8 of them, I figured I'd get a start on the Celebrity Death Pool:

The rules (stollen from last years thread):
Pick three celebrities who you reckon will be worms meat by 12pm on 31st Dec 2014.
Pick one "Tragedy Pick", someone you'd rather didn't decide to die in 2014...

One point for each. Winner will receive a copy of kowalski's new book "Pointless Motorbike Anecdotes and me", and one of GT Arrowhead's shlt bikes. and his mum.

I'll go first, and will keep it similar to this year:

1. Stan Lee
2. Barry Gibb
3. Prince Philip (pretty much a dead cert imho)

Tradgedy Pick: Clint Eastwood

    1. Justin Bieber in a drug overdose given to him by Miley Cyrus. There will be world wide celebrations.

    2. Lemmy Killmister. He's barely hanging on now. Sadly I don't think the heavy metal legend will last another year.

    3. The tragic loss of Bruce Forcythe. Tragic because it means Ant & Dec will get even more tv air time.
  • Can we include in the rules that only one of them can be a 'dead cert' ie Prince Philip, otherwise it can be a bit easier.

    1. Stephen Hawkin
    2. Prince Philip
    3. Justin Beiber (God I hope I'm right!)

    Tragedy Pick: Ronnie Corbett

I always thought the 'Tragedy' pick was for someone under 50, who was 'taken before their time'?

    My picks are

    1) Fidel Castro
    2) Bruce Forsyth
    3) George Bush Snr

    Tragedy Pick) Sean Connery

Tragedy: Ronnie Corbett (we're getting over run with 'National Treasures' - we could stand to loose a small one)

  • I seriously hope Schumi makes a full recovery. It would be a massive loss to the entire world of sport.
  • I'm confused by this, the radio said last night it was serious but not critical, and now all I'm hearing is that it sounds like he's on the brink of death. Did the media realise that saying he's on deaths door sold more than 'he banged his head'?

By the sounds of it he has deterioted rapidly, was concious and walking after the accident, but was in a Coma by the time he arrived at hospital (now reporting brain lesions - not good).

The early reports were based on the ski resorts' report that he was concious and talking

  • Peter Sallis
    Charles Manson
    Lauren Bacall

Would go for Rolf Harris but he's a strong candidate for a diy job, which I assume would make his entry void here.

Surprise demise of the year : Charlie Sheen - could be messy, could be bizarre, could well be comical.

Sadly, I reckon 2014 will be awash with famous people calling it a day.
Dickie Attenborough, Michael Caine, Kirk Douglas and Zsa Zsa Gabor are amongst those that ought not to bother buying green bananas or an extra loaf of bread for the freezer.

Finally, a new face in the CC who is not a complete mong. Can we keep him?
  • Hmmmmm, just re-read that and realized it sounds a bit........ rapey.

Here, Contented, does this malibu and coke taste like rohypnol to you?

If the idea of having it away with a 5ft 8, 100kg, slightly neanderthal looking gorilla floats your boat that much, I'm your man for the price of a bottle of cheap booze and / or a top swing, bottom pull front mech.
Anyhoo, thanks for the welcome, such as it is. I normally post (in the beginner forums) as 'randoneer' but I can't access my email for the password reset until I give yahoo a phone number, which just ain't going to happen.
