    Yes, indeed.

When I said 3 minutes (on Sunday) I was talking about Thursday. So 3 minutes longer by Thursday from Sunday - which sounds about right. 8)

Nooooo! Mornings still dark after 9am? The phrase always used to justify it is 'an extra hour of daylight'. Tosh. Just shifts where the daylight is in relation to our clocks. They tried it in the late 60s when I were a lad, and it was miserable. Let's just accept that living in Britain in the depths of winter is going to be miserable with just 8 hours of daylight, and get on with waiting for spring.

  • The earliest sunset doesnt occur at the solstice but a few weeks before. Only a couple of minutes difference though

More important for me is the height of the sun during the day - a sunny day with a 6C maximum in mid-February feels quite a bit warmer than mid-December.

I have 8.16 to 16.17 today. That's 8.00:50. In other words a PR by 14 secs. This is more exciting than strava...

I can't wait for the days when I can finish work, drive back, have a snooze and still go out for a long cycle before it gets dark. Happy days :-)
