Hi I have a carrera fury frame and I have just received some rockshox recon silver forks, the steerer tube is 175mm long and the steerer tube sticks out 38mm past the head tube is this sufficient enough to work safely and enough for a stem to clamp onto and be safe

Thanks
Matthew

Depends on the stem - the top of the stem should ideally be 2-5mm higher than the steerer.
  • So the steerer tube of the fork isnt to short to use

Was that a question or a statement or something else?

Like supersonic said, as long as you have 2-5mm of the stem above the top of the fork steerer then yes it should be ok.

But it means that you will never be able to experiment with bar height if that is your kind of thing...
