Justifiable sacking for AVB? I mean it took hundreds of millions and a few managers to get Man City a single Premier League win, what do the Tottenham board want? He was never going to keep Bale.

Malky Mackay - Imagine being in his position, the sword of Damocles poised above his head and for what?

Has the world gone mad?

I dunno why they fired AVB. They were a mere 6 penalties away from a decent result against Liverpool.

Normal now - that's about 6 Premier League managers sacked this season? Mackay shouldn't worry too much - just let Tan sack him and he gets paid for the next couple of years for doing nothing.

Back from the pub Stevo? Spend a fortune because of those Laaaandun prices? Move north where there are proper roads/trails/people and you can afford to get pi$$ed.

Nah, pub was last night but it doesn't take much to get me pi$$ed anyway. Did a bit of a late one at work this eve to get stuff finished as I'm off till the 6th of Jan, then pedalled home :)

I'm from Middlesbrough originally so I know about Up North - headed there on Sunday. Moving back not an option as there aren't any jobs in my boring esoteric field of work round that end of the world.

The upside. You get paid very well, more than most people earn in a lifetime. Even when you fail/fall foul of the owner you get the full amount of your contract paid out in severance and if your lucky you can land another role and get a double whammy in an extra salary.

The downside. You won't have a choice when or how you leave.

For me it is the equivalent of being kids as it is the owners bat and ball, if you don't like the rules you don't have to play.

So what if the owner wants to change the colours of the club or the name. He's paid for it and can do what he wants unfortunately people who have supported the club from birth may have a different perspective and their investment is emotional but accrues to nothing in the scheme of things. For me the best club owner is Delia or the Gold & Sullivan. ok the latter make dildo's and porn but they are all genuine fans of the game where the fans are at the centre of most club activity.
