Hi,

Have a 2012 Nerve XC and need to replace the bearings. I can find bearing pullers (from Superstar Components) for everything I need except for the bearing 626-2RS which I believe is 6x18. Looks as if Superstar only go down to 8mm

Does anyone know of a bearing puller that will work for this other than hammering it out? It's more about installing it being the issue as I want to make sure it goes in flush!

Thanks

Get a bearing puller if you want but for taking the old ones out just knock them out gently/evenly.

To install the bearings properly and flush get a decent set of bearing drifts... or you could make a bearing press of sorts... in your case all you'd need is a long enough M8 bolt with nut, 2x M8 washers and a spanner

I bought the superstars bearing puller set http://superstar.tibolts.co.uk/product_ ... cts_id=595

and sed it to remove the rear pivot bearings on my nerve, they were completely fubard. I also bought one of these to help press the bearings back in http://superstar.tibolts.co.uk/product_ ... cts_id=529

It was a real struggle to et the bearings out even with the slide hammer, but i got there in the end. Not a cheap solution, but i guessed it was worth having the tools in the long run. I cant in the life of me remember what the bearing numbers were in the end, however i thought they were 8mm inner race diameter? I bought the bearings from an internet bearing supplier for about £5
