Warning: This thread is about cycling!
Gittery it was, giittery. I set off into the black and on narrow roads elected to ride in the middle. In no time, there ws a light and continuous sccchhhhhhh which soon turned into a loud and continuous scccccchhhhhhhh.
Finally I got home a nervous wreck having survived potholes, branches, drunk farmers lying in the road and discarded litter blowing around and playing Russian Roulette with errant carrier bags getting very close to the transmission.

Rear caliper was totally obscured with mud. The SKS longs don't allow much for leeway with 25mm tyres and a bucket or two of mud chucked at them.

Farmers (bless 'em), are supposed to clean up after themselves - why aren't they ordered to clean up their mess or given the bill for road cleaning?

I believe that the best counter argument was - Farmers daughters.
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

    Will this do?

    The Lonely tree

    I was lost and lonely
    I sat underneath a tree
    Then I saw this bush
My briefs were filled with glee
A fair colour that took my breath away
As we rolled amongst the hay...

Then at once I heard a shout
A man not small but full of clout
He pointed his 12 bore my way
Shocked; I gasped and ran away

Now I sit again under the tree
Dreaming of the hay, oh lonely me...
