Them brakes do look mad but they also weigh 215 grams and feel every bit as stiff and powerful as more conventional brakes.

  • Nice, but I think it would look better with black cables.

You're never happy are you? :P

    Road - Dolan Preffisio
    MTB - On-One Inbred

I have no idea what's going on here.

Very cool :D What's the total build cost if you don't mind me asking?
It's a mix of new and lightly used parts, total cost with lots of bargain hunting comes to a few quid under £1750.

After a quick ride I have made a couple of changes. The Pro-lite forks are not as stiff as I would like so I have swapped them over to a pair of Controltech Lightening forks, fractionally lighter but much stiffer. Also the 90cm stem was too short so I have fitted a 110cm Pro Vibe carbon stem which seems to match the overall look of the bike and puts me in the right position and again it adds a bit of stiffness. After a quick blast up the street the bike feels very comfortable and fast, if the weather holds I will take it on a proper run later on but first impressions are good.

  • Lol, I have no idea what the second hand value would be. I think I might need a shorter stem, but not sure whether to buy a new or used one.

Probably best to buy a cheap one to get the position right, can't go wrong with something like this. http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/STS ... inium_stem

  • Wow thanks for the link, didn't know you get them that cheap.

    P. S. When are you fitting black cables? ;)

I actually really like the white cables. In the flesh they don't look as bright, I think the flash made them look a bit bright. Gonna leave this bike well alone and concentrate on sorting my Ti Cube out when it comes back.

Another superb effort and lovely looking bike! I always enjoy Pasteys' 'Your Road Bikes' threads. You have a real knack for putting together bikes that just look 'right'. Thanks for sharing this.

PS - I'd love to see some photos of your workbench and parts bins.

I was getting ready not to like this bike as soon as I saw 'Pro Lite' in the thread title. I thought it'd be covered in huge 'offensive' logos and was right, but I like the look. How much you selling it for?

Fine I'll buy my own :(

The white band around the seatstay wishbone keeps doing a visual trick on me, I keep thinking it's a brake bridhe race number.

I would love to see my work bench too but it's buried under a ton of rubbish, and my parts bin consists of lots of blue Ikea bags stuffed with bits :D
Here is one such bag to give you an idea

Got a lovely Ti post delivered today and I have just put a set of oval Doval chainrings (52/35) on the cranks I purchased as part of the frame package, love the look of the Ti post and want to fit it to a bike but wonder if it would look out of place on the Pro-lite. May also fit the Pro-lite cranks as they will suit the bike and I can put the Rotor chainset on my Cube, I also like the Doval rings, I used them last summer and found they worked for me, although the Pro-lite arms are lighter than the Rotor's the Doval rings are heavier so I will gain 50 grams !!!!!!!
