i ride up the segment after most rides but for some reason it never gets a time for it

i thought it may start working after i stopped using an iphone and went to my Garmin 810

but no matter which part of the road i ride on, close to gutter or in 2nd lane it just wont pick up a time

how does that work then?? totally baffled by it

  • Is itvery near where you live and you have a privacy zone set up ? Strava doesn't show segments within your privacy zone.
  • i think you might have hit the nail on the head as near the top of the hill my house is with 50 metres, even though its on a back street, i bet i cancels this out for that reason..

il try removing the privac see if it comes back

i suspect that it is because the segment was set up using a device that has poor gps tracking so wanders away from the road. there are couple like that around here, one of which finishes inside a factory and the other wanders into a field. both of them were set up on an iphone. nobody else can get the same track so noone gets recorded on them. either that or they were properly set up and your device goes off track. looking at the seg it doesnt seem to correctly follow the road. i think there is an app which enables you to tighten them up but i assume that would be down to the owner of the seg
  • thin the easy way round this is to find a ride of mine along the route that is recorded correctly then.
    and make that the segment

    see if that works

  • This will be why I can't get a time on the road my house is on.

The other side of the coin is that I am KOM on the one that wanders into the field because my 500 picked it up but no one else did. So I'm competing only with the original poster... Check it out guys because the trace is bonkers
