Just wondering if anyone has any tips for fitting alloy stems with carbon bars? Just picked up some ec70's on here and have a ritchey wcs stem. Usually torque the bar clamp to 5nm-not sure about this with carbon bars? Any advice would be much appreciated
Cheers

No worries, just make sure you tighten the screws evenly - 5Nm is pretty standard tightening torque for all bars
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • I'd probably go for 3-4Nm and see if it slips but 5 should be fine, just go 1/2 turn per bolt once they're finger tight so it's even.

Thanks for that-will give it a go over the weekend then!

Do the bars not state on them what Nm you should use?

    If not your stem does.

Alloy bars can slip in a carbon stem so make sure you put a thin layer of No More Nails or similar in the clamping zone.
