Is the whyte 2011 better speced then the 2013?

Hi all, new to new bikes and have narrowed the bike I want down to the whyte 805.
Now, I want to know if the 2011 model http://www.whytebikes.com/2011/bike_pag ... W-1-015-11
Has better components then the 2013 model http://www.hargreaves-cycles.co.uk/prod ... 1b0s2p2847
After abit of googling on parts it seems the 2011 is better (forks wise) but just wanted to be sure?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Yep.
    Happened to a lot of companies during the economic squeeze. The price has stayed the same, but they've upped their profits by using cheaper components.

    That is interesting, thank you.
    Can get the 2011 for £649, didn't thank that was a bad price down from 900 ish as its a older model, what would you suggest cooldad?

    Equivalent spec is about £500 from Decathlon or Halfords.

    Oh what a wonderful world it'd be with everyone riding around on Rockriders.

    The Whyte bikes are good, I had the 809. It's not all down to just components, the geometry was spot on for me. A nice slack HA for a short travel HT was nice when bombing it down the rough stuff.

    So you can spend more for less and be 'different' or not.
    I guess that's why little Audi drivers pay more for an uglier Golf.

    In your opinion. The world would be an interesting place if we all had the same as what you deemed acceptable to have.

    And it's not just about brand names and paying over the odds, there are key differences here, geometry and aesthetics. It's about prioritising what you want as an individual.

    You or anyone else can buy, ride and love whatever you want. Just posting random posts, as one does on a forum.
    And pointing out to someone new, who has asked for help, and may not have ridden loads of bikes to compare and choose a geometry ideally suited to them, that potentially, there are better deals available.

    FWIW I don't have a Rockrider, or a Boardman.

    Can't find a 805 in my size anywhere.

    And feedback on this bike?
    Seems good to my limited knowledge.

    I had an attention which is a slightly lower spec version of the Acid?

    What's your budget? I'd try and stretch another £80ish and get an LTD series Cube.. Nicer frame and forks...Think I saw a 2013 brand new on ebay for 650...
