need a new rear mech? upgrade question

i am upgrading my 8 speed shimano 2300 allez to tiagra sti 9 speed levers with the paddles...have got cables new chain and a new 9 speed tiagra cassette...will the sora rear mech be ok with the 9 speed cassette?

    Yes it will work fine, remember to re-adjust the limit screws and indexing.

    Mechs are not speed specific, they simply move how far the shifter tells it to (by the amount of cable pull, not a conversation) :-)
