    This sounds a bit excessive. Not sure what the point of this is really. Its not even like they get much money if they succeed or indeed have to ride or race anything close to as tough as that. Odd.

    Whittle them down so only the hardest survive.

    If they just put them through race distances that they would actually encounter - you'd not be stressing the riders too much ?

    I've not heard of the men doing that though !
