I can't even begin to work out how to get down that! Even with some proper MTB/DH mud spikes...

cxhairs covered that in one of his videos. Basically the top riders hit that rut on the first corned and railed it round. The second corner is not off camber so more a case of letting the bike roll where it wants.

Abergavenny was slippy bit it wasn't as bad as that! It does remind me of "that bank" at Bradford though!

That was what I had in mind - I wasnt sure how solid the rut was though...

I can't remember either, everyone else had to ride through a shallower bit at the edge of the course but Stybar just hopped it

Thanks both. The discussion in the link below suggests it is Ruddervoorde.

I'd like to see the respective gaps once the others had remounted, the guys carrying their bikes gained ground going up the steps.

Sven Nys (Crelan-KDL) wins the GP Hasselt for the fourth time in his illustrious career

Sven Nys (Crelan KDL) continued to dominate the international cyclo-cross races in Belgium, again using his famous bike handling skills and sprint finish to win the GP Hasselt race that is part of the Bpost Bank Trofee series.
Nys out-sprinted a very disappointed and angry Niels Albert and Belgian national champion Klaas Vantornout after a fast race.

    Superprestige Gavere 2013

World champion Sven Nys (Crelan-KDL) gave yet another lesson in how to win major cyclo-cross races by taking victory in the Asper-Gavere race of the Superprestige series. Incredibly it was Nys’ ninth victory in the Asper-Gavere race and he also extended his lead in the season-long race series. It was his second victory of the weekend

Jeremy Powers won, so he was both awesome and the victor.

    November 24, Elite Men:
Albert wins Gieten round of Superprestige series

Albert becomes the new leader of the Superprestige cyclo-cross series as former leader Sven Nys (Crelan-Euphony) pulled out when riding in last position after a crash and mechanical.

  • Did anyone see this? It was a cracking race! Albert crashed on the first corner of the first lap, so had to come through from last place to win.

I do wish FF would label his photo's (etc).
No wonder he has so many he cannot remember who they are.

This one is last Sunday's Gieten round of Superprestige where the strong winds caused the advertising barriers to topple just as the "Elite" riders were about to start.
The other races (Juniors etc) had already been run off.
The poor fella in the blue coat was trying to hold them upright as they fell on him.
